Minister-President Boris Rhein, along with Bad Vilbel's Mayor Sebastian Wysocki, CDU party members, will officially inaugurate the event at 1:00 PM. Before the grand opening, Hessen's Minister of the Environment Ingmar Jung (CDU) will unveil the special exhibit "On the Trail of Nature" at 10:00 AM.
As the sun sets on Friday, the legendary rock band Rodgau Monotones will light up the scene with their timeless hit "Have Mercy, Too Late, the Hessian is Coming," a tune that's super charged with cult status.
This exciting city on the outskirts of Frankfurt offers visitors more than 1,600 events to partake in until June 22, under the theme "Bringing Hessen to the Stage." In a first, Bad Vilbel will be the stage for Hessentag, with the original scheduled event in 2020 due to Covid-19 constraints.
Activities from the Bundeswehr, fire department, technical relief agency, clubs, and various groups are expected to leave you spellbound. Since 1961, Hessentag has been a yearly tradition that brings Hessian culture and camaraderie to the forefront. It was initiated by the then Minister-President Georg August Zinn (SPD).
