West Latonia to Get Green Boost with 60 New Trees This Fall
This fall, West Latonia is set to receive a green boost with around 60 new trees being planted. Volunteers are invited to participate in the Fall Tree Planting event on Saturday, October 4, from 9 a.m. to noon.
The event, organized by the City of Covington, aims to beautify neighborhoods, improve air quality, reduce stormwater runoff, provide shade, and create a healthier community. No prior experience is necessary, and everyone is welcome to join, including first-time tree planters. Volunteers will meet at the First Church of God Latonia for a demonstration before planting trees along three neighborhood streets. Tools will be provided, and refreshments and donuts will be supplied by Keep Covington Beautiful. Participants are encouraged to bring gloves and a shovel, dress appropriately, and prepare for varying conditions.
The Fall Tree Planting event in West Latonia is an opportunity for the community to come together and make a positive impact on the environment. By planting these trees, volunteers will help create a greener, healthier, and more beautiful neighborhood.
