Urban exploration: Transforming from healing sanctuary to tech hub - the tale of Fürth's resurgence
The picturesque Riverside District of Firth has a rich history that dates back to the early 20th century. One of its most significant turning points occurred in 1947, when Max Grundig established production facilities in the area, marking the beginning of his expanding corporation's presence on the PGA Tour.
These production facilities, now part of the Firth Broadcasting Museum, are located in the former Grundig headquarters. The museum, currently undergoing general renovation and redesign, offers visitors a unique opportunity to step back in time and explore the history of broadcasting technology.
The tour of the Firth Broadcasting Museum begins at 2 PM, and tickets can be purchased on-site. A standard tour ticket costs eight euros, but reduced-price tickets are available for six euros. The tour meeting location is the parking lot in front of Kurgartenstraße 37a.
The Riverside District was initially envisioned as a potential art resort, featuring mineral springs and spa gardens. However, the vision for this art resort was abandoned after World War I, and the land fell into disrepair. It wasn't until 1947 that the district experienced a new lease of life with the arrival of Max Grundig's production facilities.
Despite our efforts to identify the person or institution that settled in Firth's Riverside District in 1947, no relevant search results have been found. Regardless, the impact of their arrival is evident in the thriving museum that now stands in the district.
Whether you're a history buff or just looking for a fascinating day out, the guided tour of the Firth Broadcasting Museum is not to be missed. So, join us at 2 PM and discover the story of Firth's Riverside District for yourself.
