Upcoming Local Flea Market in Geist District Set for September 7
On September 7th, 2025, the Geistviertel neighbourhood will once again host its annual flea market. This community event, organised by Gemeinwesenarbeit Geistviertel (DRK Lünen) and the city of Lünen, promises a day filled with camaraderie, exchange, and discovery.
The market, which runs from 10 am to 4 pm, will feature over 130 stalls, surpassing last year's number. Visitors can browse a variety of items, including household goods, clothing, antiques, toys, books, and handmade crafts. A new addition to this year's market is a waffle stand, run by the support association of the DRK-Kita Geistervilla (Virchowstraße 20-22). The exact location of the waffle stand is yet to be specified.
In front of Friedrichstraße 65 B, food and drinks, including grilled sausages and waffles, will be available for purchase. Tim Jesella from the community work department reported on the event, expressing delight at the strong involvement of Geistviertel residents.
For those interested in more information, Tim Jesella can be contacted via email at tim.jesella@drk-unser website. The flea market aims to offer a unique perspective of the Geistviertel neighbourhood, encouraging visitors to explore and connect with the community.
The market is not just a shopping event; it's an opportunity for people to come together, share stories, and celebrate the vibrant spirit of Geistviertel. So, mark your calendars for September 7th, and join the community in this delightful celebration of camaraderie and exchange. And remember, entry to the market is free, and the use of toilets is free for all visitors.
