Unsanctioned Bonfires: Waste Piles Igniting
In the peaceful town of Lobberich, a compost pile on Wilhelmshöhe Street ignited a fire early Tuesday morning. The blaze, which started around 07:45, is believed to have been sparked by previous gardening activities.
The exact individual responsible for the fire remains unidentified, according to reports from the Kreispolizeibehörde Viersen. However, the Nettetal fire department swiftly responded to the incident and managed to extinguish the fire by 08:45.
During the extinguishing process, the street between Düsseldorf Street and Dyck Street was temporarily closed.
It is worth noting that the fire did not stay confined to the compost pile. It spread to nearby stored firewood, adding to the challenge faced by the firefighters.
