Tending to 3,000 vegetation pieces in partnership with GSK at Wołomin on the 11th of April, 2025.
In Wołomin, Poland, a greening initiative took place on April 11, transforming the grounds of Kindergarten No. 5 "Puss in Boots" and Wacław Nałkowski High School No. 1. The initiative, conducted by our website and volunteers from GSK, aimed to create an atmosphere of cooperation, education, and joy, and it involved the planting of nearly 3,000 plants.
The kindergarten grounds were transformed into a garden with diverse plant species. Over 3,200 plants in total were added, including flower bulbs, shrubs, and grasses. The flower bulbs planted included tiger lilies, gladioli, freesias, anemones, and marigolds, creating a vibrant and welcoming environment for the children. Among the shrubs, spireas, mock oranges, forsythias, viburnums, hibiscuses, dogwoods, hydrangeas, and lilacs were planted. Additionally, 80 ornamental grasses, such as fountain grass, 'Ice Dance' sedges, fescues, molinias, and miscanthus, were added to the landscape.
To further diversify the plant life, another 30 shrubs, potentillas, and tamarisks were also planted. These choices aimed to promote biodiversity and environmental education, providing a rich learning opportunity for the children.
The greening initiative at the high school also included a variety of plants, creating a space with a light and natural rhythm. The focus on both institutions reflects a commitment to fostering a love for nature and the environment, as well as creating enjoyable and educational spaces for the community.
The diverse plant species in the gardens of the kindergarten and high school, including tiger lilies, spireas, and ornamental grasses, contribute to a lifestyle that harmoniously blends home-and-garden elements with nature, fostering an environment that encourages learning about home-and-garden gardening for the community. With the addition of flower bulbs like freesias, shrubs such as viburnums, and various ornamental grasses, these green spaces offer a picturesque home-and-garden setting that beautifully compliments the educational routine of the schools.
