"Moving out of my place was going to be a pain anyway, but when they showed me the deductions, it hit me hard," Tickoo shared on the platform, adding that the landlord, who only communicated in Kannada, kept the distance throughout his stay.
The complaint didn't end here. Tickoo accused his landlord of charging him Rs 55,000 for painting, followed by a high sum for various miscellaneous damages, totaling over Rs 82,000. When questioned, he received a handwritten sheet with random charges, but no detailed list or proper invoices.
Some tenants resent paying hefty deposits in the first place, with language and communication barriers further jeopardizing their experiences. Frustrated by such instances, Tickoo signed off his post with a call to action, "Bengaluru landlords are becoming a menace."
