Sophomore Student: Sophia Colby, Class of 2024
Sophia Colby, a recent graduate of Oberlin College, has taken on a new role as the Sustained Dialogue Coordinator for the Multifaith Chaplaincy community at her alma mater. In this position, Colby will be serving the Multifaith Chaplaincy & Sustained Dialogue community, working to foster open and respectful conversations among students of various faiths.
Colby's journey at Oberlin College began long before her graduation in 2024. She was an active participant in a number of student organisations, including the Musical Union, Ballet Oberlin, and the Interfaith Student Council. Her involvement in these groups showcases her commitment to the arts and interfaith dialogue.
Colby's educational background is as diverse as her interests. She majored in creative writing, cinema and media, and has a minor in music, reflecting her passion for storytelling and the arts. This blend of skills will undoubtedly prove valuable in her new role.
Beyond her academic pursuits, Colby has a deep-rooted passion for cooking and baking. These hobbies, along with her dedication to supporting communities, make her an ideal fit for her role as Sustained Dialogue Coordinator.
Colby, who hails from both Virginia and California, also brings previous work experience to the table. She has worked for admissions at Oberlin College, providing her with a unique understanding of the college's community and its needs.
