Renovated Toilet Facility on Findorffmarkt, Bremen, Now Open to the Public!
The Findorff Market in Bremen recently underwent a significant renovation, transforming its toilet facilities into energy-efficient, barrier-free, and modern spaces. Funded by the Senator for Economy, Harbors, and Transformation, this project aimed to provide a comfortable and accessible experience for all visitors.
On May 30th, the renovated facilities were inaugurated in a unique manner, with toilet paper being ceremoniously cut instead of the traditional ribbon. The exterior design, a collaboration between apprentices, Bremen graffiti artist Steve Dobs, and the Martinsclub, was considered brilliant, attracting many glances at their unveiling.
The renovated facilities include modern and comfortable sanitary spaces, equipped with a disabled toilet, remote-controlled flushing, an alarm button, and a changing table. To aid people with rollators and wheelchairs, an electric door opening via a button was implemented. The existing ladies' and gentlemen's toilets had their technical installations completely renewed.
The outdoor paving was raised towards the door threshold, making it easier for strollers to access. A barrier-free toilet was created, ensuring that everyone can use the facilities with ease. The result is a significant improvement over the previous facilities, offering a more enjoyable experience for all Market visitors.
The inauguration was a joyous occasion for many, with one visitor summarizing its importance by saying, "A person has to be able to 'go' after all!" Despite the lack of distinguished guests from the city of Bremen, the event was celebrated by the local community.
The image of the renovated toilet facilities is credited to M3B GmbH/Jan Klaassen. The collaboration between apprentices, Steve Dobs, and the Martinsclub has resulted in a vibrant and welcoming space that is sure to be a highlight of the Findorff Market.
