Rally Behind the Lighthouse Constructors' Peak-Performing Workforce!
The Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity has announced two exciting events for the construction industry – the 4 Peaks Challenge and the On Yer Bike Challenge. These events aim to provide a unique opportunity for participants to test their physical limits while raising funds for a worthy cause.
The 4 Peaks Challenge involves scaling four of the highest mountains in Scotland, England, Wales, and Ireland within a 48-hour window between 10-12 September 2020. The mountains included in the challenge are Ben Nevis, Helvellyn, Snowdon, and Carrauntoohil. The Peaky Climbers, a team from the charity, will also participate in this challenge, led by Bill Hill, the Charity CEO.
The Peaky Climbers team includes Bill Hill, Michelle Finnerty, Laura Anderson, and David Anderson. Interested participants can find more information about both events, the 4 Peaks Challenge and the On Yer Bike Challenge, on their respective webpages. The events' webpages are the primary source for finding more information about participation, routes, and sponsorship.
The goal of the 4 Peaks Challenge is to raise £300,000. Sponsorship for the Lighthouse Club's Peaky Climbers can be made through their Justgiving Page. All expenses for the Peaky Climbers are covered by themselves, so donations will reach construction families in crisis directly.
Alongside the 4 Peaks Challenge, the charity is also organizing an 'On Yer Bike' cycling challenge. More details about this event can be found on the event's webpage.
The culmination of both the 4 Peaks Challenge and the On Yer Bike Challenge will be a celebratory gala dinner in Killarney. While the gala dinner is not explicitly stated as a charity event, it is implied as part of the culmination of the charitable events. It will serve as a platform to celebrate everyone's achievements and share experiences, especially after weary legs.
Last year, the charity delivered £1.13M of charitable services. By participating in these challenges, not only are you testing your physical limits, but you're also making a significant difference in the lives of those in the construction community and their families.
For more information, visit the event webpages and consider sponsoring the Peaky Climbers. Let's come together to support the construction community and make a difference!
