Quartier's Cycling Infrastructure Boosted by Löberstraße's Two-Way Opening
The Quartier district has seen a significant improvement in its cycling infrastructure. The Löberstraße, previously a one-way street for bikes, is now open for two-way traffic, strengthening the bike axis between the city park and the train station or the Lahn.
The change in Löberstraße allows cyclists to travel in the opposite direction, with additional signs guiding them. This adjustment has also freed up resident parking spaces, which will be relocated to Lonystraße between Goethestraße and Bleichstraße.
To ensure safety and smooth traffic flow, property access roads will serve as passing spaces, and longer passing spaces will be provided. Visibility between cyclists and waiting traffic will be improved, and right-of-way rules will be strictly enforced. Parking spaces near the intersection on Goethestraße will be moved to the other side of the street. Cyclists coming from Berliner Platz can now pass through without turning onto Bismarckstraße and then left into Lonystraße. The section from Bismarckstraße to Goethestraße has been added to the previously open section between Berliner Platz and Bismarckstraße, further enhancing the cycling route.
The opening of Löberstraße for two-way bike traffic and the relocation of parking spaces have significantly improved the cycling axis between the city park and the train station or the Lahn. These changes aim to provide a safer and more convenient cycling experience in the Quartier district.
