Potsdam Marks 20th Anniversary of UNESCO World Heritage Day with Special Events
In commemoration of the 20th anniversary of UNESCO World Heritage Day, the iconic UNESCO World Heritage sites in Potsdam, Germany, will host a series of engaging activities on June 1, 2025. The city invites visitors to partake in a selection of tours, exhibitions, and cultural events that celebrate the historical and cultural significance of its renowned landmarks.
The day's festivities will kick off with guided tours of the Belvedere Pfingstberg viewing castle and the New Chambers of Sanssouci. In addition, interactive digital scavenger hunts will be available for families to explore the park. St. Nikolaikirche will echo with the melodies of organ music, while film enthusiasts can catch the Oscar-winning animated film "Flow" at Filmmuseum Potsdam. Free city tours will offer an insider's view into Potsdam's history and the stories behind its baroque architecture. To wrap up the day, a public tango festival will take place in front of the Potsdam Museum.
