On Saturday, September 20, 2025, the 4th Citizen's Day and the 22nd "Day of Self-Help" of the Gütersloh district will occur together, promising a day filled with engaging activities, informative sessions, and entertaining performances.

The event will be held from 11 am to 5 pm at Dreiecksplatz and Theodor-Heuss-Platz. Mayor Matthias Trepper and Deputy District Administrator Dr. Heinz-Josef Söke will officially open the day.

Visitors can explore more than 80 clubs, initiatives, and organizations set up at over 50 white pagoda tents. Here, they can find information, engage in conversation, and potentially discover a new volunteer position or hobby.

The Gütersloh Makerspace will showcase creative tech ideas, while the Lippe-Ems rescue dog squad will provide insights into their work during the event. The MuseumMobile of the Stiftung Haus der Geschichte Nordrhein-Westfalen will make a stop, featuring local stories and developments about the economy in Gütersloh.

For those interested in music, theater, and dance, the stage program on Dreiecksplatz includes various performances throughout the day. The Gütersloh Citizens' Stage, choir "Zwischentöne", New Rock Opera Ensemble, and group "Wasilissa" are among the performers. Wertkreis Beats will perform rock music at 2:30 pm.

Dr. Clown e.V. clinic clowns will be a walking act from 2 to 4 pm, adding a touch of fun and entertainment to the day. Moderator Thorsten Wagner-Conert will lead short interviews on interesting topics.

The ADFC will provide information about cycling, and the German Stroke Foundation will explain how to become a stroke navigator. Along the Kneipenmeile and at many stands, small treats will be offered.

Moreover, the Maltese will present their "wish mobile" at the Citizen's Day. The Gütersloh flying club will bring a glider to the event, offering a unique opportunity to learn about aviation.

The "Faces of Volunteering", volunteers in open senior care, will introduce themselves, providing a chance for visitors to understand the impact of volunteering in the community.
