Park University to Present Art Work by RE: Generation Community Artists at Upcoming Art Display

In the heart of Parkville, the Campanella Gallery at Park University is set to host the thought-provoking group exhibit, "RE: Generation", from February 18, 2025, to April 26, 2025. This exhibit, dedicated in memory of Sharon Hunter-Putsch, the founder of RE: Generation who passed away in October 2024, promises a captivating exploration of themes that resonate deeply with our current times.

The exhibit features a diverse group of Kansas City-area artists who share common generational, historical, and cultural experiences. Among the artists participating are Donna Bachmann, a professor emerita of art at Park University, Jane Pronko, Lynn Richardson (an adjunct instructor of fine art at Park University), Catherine Vesce, Megan Wyeth, Janet Kuemmerlein, Diana Werts, and Carol Zastoupil.

Each artist's work in the exhibit is rooted in themes of family, environment, culture, and the unique moment our nation and planet find themselves in. The artworks reflect a wide range of media, content, styles, and techniques, offering a rich tapestry of perspectives.

RE: Generation nourishes a collegial spirit that supports individual studio practices through cross-fertilization and dialogue. This collective, working in various media, aims to foster a meaningful conversation about the shared experiences and challenges of their generation.

The Campanella Gallery, located inside Norrington Center on Park's flagship Parkville Campus, offers free admission to the public. Gallery hours are Monday-Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sunday, 4 to 9 p.m. However, during Park's Spring Break week (March 8-16), the gallery hours are slightly adjusted to Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday-Sunday, closed.

A reception for the artists will be held on April 4, 2025, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Campanella Gallery, providing an excellent opportunity to meet the artists and engage in conversation about their work.
