Outdoor Movie Fest Kicks Off in Karlsruhe During Summer Evenings
This summer, Karlsruhe is set to host two exciting Open Air Cinema events that promise a unique blend of contemporary and classic films under the starry night sky.
Firstly, the Kino im Blauen Salon Open Air Cinema will take place in front of the HfG (Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design) from May 23 to June 1, 2025, with a second round scheduled to start soon. Ticket details are yet to be announced, so it's advisable to visit the official website or contact the organisers for updates.
The Schauburg Open Air Kino, on the other hand, will run throughout the summer, with screenings starting at 21:30 in July and 21:00 in August. Films can be purchased on-site or online, and tickets can be cancelled until 18:00 on the day of the event. It's recommended to arrive early as popular evenings can sell out quickly.
The cinema open-air event takes place at Schloss Gottesaue and offers a mix of current cinema hits, classics, and special surprises. Highlights include "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone", "Mamma Mia!", "The Canoe of Manitu", and "F1". Special screenings for children include "Paddington in Peru".
Food and drink stands will be available on site, and while coolers are prohibited, you're welcome to bring your own food in moderation. Blankets and pillows are allowed, but own chairs or loungers are not, for safety reasons.
The event is easily accessible by tram, and nearby parking options are available at the exhibition center. Barrier-free toilets are available at the venue.
The Schauburg Open Air Kino kicks off with the family film "Lilo & Stitch", and on July 22, the film "#Schwarzeschafe" featuring main actor Yasin el Harrouk will be shown.
Whether you're a film enthusiast or simply looking for a fun summer activity, these Open Air Cinema events are not to be missed. For the most current and detailed information, visiting the official websites or contacting the organisers directly is recommended.
