Nordhorn Celebrates World Children's Day 2025 with Vibrant Family Festival

Nordhorn marked World Children's Day 2025 with a vibrant family festival, organized by the city's Youth Department and local partners. The event, themed 'Children's Rights: Building Blocks for Democracy', drew around 400 children, young people, and families to the Nordhorn Youth Center.

The festival offered a diverse program. Musical group 'The Monity' entertained with dance performances. Children could explore a low ropes course, enjoy actions by the DRK and Nordhorn Tafel, and warm up by a cozy fire with stick bread provided by the scout group. Nature lovers hosted a skill rally, while magicians captivated with their shows.

The Children's Protection Association and the One World Shop educated attendees about world market rights worldwide. The city library and Nordhorn City Gallery offered creative activities, alongside a balloon artist and a bouncy castle.

World Children's Day, celebrated annually on September 20th, aims to raise awareness of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The Nordhorn festival brought together various institutions and associations, including the City of Nordhorn, DRK-Kreisverband Grafschaft Bentheim e.V., Kita Bullerbü, and others. The Youth Department can be contacted for more information about the festival and their other offers.
