New State Real School's Topping-Out Marks Milestone Despite Challenges

The topping-out ceremony for the new state real school concluded with a convivial gathering and a speech by the topping-out master. The event marked a significant milestone in the construction project, which has faced challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic and supply issues due to the Ukraine war but remains on schedule.

The ceremony was attended by Ministerial Director Adolf Schicker and Senior Realschool Director Manfred Brodschelm, who both offered greetings. The name of the Ministerialdirektor who gave greetings at the preceding wreath-laying ceremony remains unknown.

The school's interior will showcase wood extensively, featuring it in the large staircase, seating area, doors, wall cladding, and cabinets. The building will accommodate around 1000 students and 100 teachers, equipped with the latest pedagogical standards and modern technical facilities. Learning spaces will include group rooms, inclusion rooms, and a daycare area with a cafeteria and kitchen.

The three-field sports hall will boast a staggered fir wood ceiling, a gallery floor with changing rooms and washrooms, and various ancillary rooms. The building's exterior will feature generously dimensioned corridors, bright classrooms, and balconies offering views of the flood plain, Martinskirche, and Burg Trausnitz. Additionally, it will include two large light wells, exposed concrete, expanded metal, and a glass and stained fir facade with continuous balconies.

The new state real school is set to provide an innovative learning environment for its students, with its modern design and facilities. Despite obstacles, the construction project is progressing well and is on track for completion.
