Germany-wide Inclusion Map Offers Support for Families - New Digital Inclusion Map Launched for German Families with Health-Impaired Children

A new digital inclusion map has been launched to support families with health-impaired children across Germany. The initiative, a collaboration between 'Familienauszeit Meitingen' and 'Digital verein(t)', offers tailored consultation and support services. Bavarian Digital Minister Fabian Mehring has praised the project for its potential to strengthen society through digital tools.

The digital map, unique nationwide, allows users to filter support offers by various criteria, including age, diagnosis, accessibility, federal state, provider, and location. This level of personalisation was absent from a previous nationwide inclusion map by the Federal Commissioner for the Disabled, which was shut down in 2022 due to low usage.

'Familienauszeit Meitingen', founded in 2024, aims to create open meeting places for families with impaired members. Meanwhile, 'Digital verein(t)' offers free workshops, consultation offers, and hackathons to make volunteers fit for the digital future. The organisation, patroned by Olympic champion Viktoria Rebensburg, also provides digital counseling and support services in Munich.

With its advanced filtering options and digital counseling services, it aims to address the shortcomings of previous initiatives.
