National Recognition for Sustainable Farming Model in Bastar at the Agriculture Leadership Conclave 2025
Dr. Rajaram Tripathi, a seven-time recipient of the "Best Farmer" award, showcased his groundbreaking Natural Greenhouse Model at the Agriculture Leadership Conclave 2025 held in New Delhi on 09 July 2025. The event, which attracted multiple experts and government representatives from across India, aimed to address issues related to sustainable farming practices and innovation.
The Natural Greenhouse Model is a unique multi-layered organic farming system that integrates Australian teak for timber, high-yield black pepper, and native medicinal plants. This innovative approach combines traditional knowledge with scientific insights, creating an ecologically balanced and profitable farming system.
The model promotes biodiversity by integrating multiple crops, reducing dependency on chemical inputs, and enhancing soil health. By diversifying crops, farmers can generate income from multiple sources—timber, black pepper, and medicinal plants—ensuring consistent financial returns. The use of native plants and organic practices also makes it a sustainable long-term farming strategy.
Dr. Tripathi, who hails from Kala Gram Kondagaon in Bastar, Chhattisgarh, chaired the session on "Farmer-Industry Partnerships for Profitable Farming" at the conclave. He was joined by a host of experts, including Pasha Patel, Yudhvir Singh, Padma Kanwal Singh Chauhan, B.K. Labh, Dr. Y.S. Sehrawat, and Dr. Prafull Gadge, who shared their insights on topics such as sustainable fertilisation, irrigation innovation, entrepreneurship in farming, and organic alternatives to chemical agriculture.
Pasha Patel, for instance, presented views on sustainable fertilisation, while B.K. Labh discussed organic alternatives to chemical agriculture. Yudhvir Singh focused on irrigation innovation, and Dr. Prafull Gadge spoke on a specific topic during the event.
The state governments of Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Bihar, Haryana, and Goa participated in the Agriculture Leadership Conclave 2025. Dr. Y.S. Sehrawat presented views on a particular topic, and Padma Kanwal Singh Chauhan shared insights on entrepreneurship in farming.
The conclave, which was a major session at the Agriculture Leadership Conclave 2025, emphasised the importance of farmer-industry partnerships for profitable farming. Dr. Tripathi's Natural Greenhouse Model, with its focus on ecological balance, profitability, and sustainability, serves as a powerful example of such partnerships.
Dr. Tripathi, who is also the National Convener of All India Farmers' Alliance (AIFA), has gained national recognition for his contributions to sustainable agriculture. His innovative model showcases the potential of organic farming to transform Indian agriculture and improve the lives of millions of farmers.
This innovative Natural Greenhouse Model developed by Dr. Rajaram Tripathi, showcased at the Agriculture Leadership Conclave 2025, doesn't just focus on farming crops, but also incorporates home-and-garden elements such as Australian teak for timber and native medicinal plants, thus expanding it to a lifestyle approach in gardening. Moreover, the model's focus on biodiversity, reducing chemical inputs, and ensuring financial returns from multiple sources, such as timber, black pepper, and medicinal plants, makes it a comprehensive solution for sustainable home-and-garden and farming practices.
