Library at Bateman Centre now offers a jaw-dropping experience with the opening of the new Appleby Line Library.
The Burlington Library system has expanded its horizons with the official opening of the New Appleby Line branch. This spacious and bright addition to the community is the result of six years of dedicated work by Lita Barrie, the library's director.
Lita Barrie, who joined Burlington from Hamilton and serves as the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), led a strong team to bring the library to its current state. The team's efforts have created a modern and inviting space that is sure to become a hub for learning and community engagement.
Upon the library's opening, James Dekens, Manager of Neighborhood Branches, greeted the first person to enter the new library. The identity of this individual remains unspecified, as does the first child to return books at the library and the first person to use a monitor there.
The library, which is part of the Bateman Community Centre, currently operates the library and the classrooms on the second level. This means that residents of Burlington now have a convenient and welcoming space to access books, technology, and educational resources.
The new Appleby Line branch of the Burlington Library system is a testament to the hard work and dedication of Lita Barrie and her team. The library's spacious design, abundance of natural light, and modern amenities make it an ideal destination for learning, reading, and community engagement.
