The Independent Voter Community (PWG) in Oberammergau has launched a survey to gauge public opinion about the future of the Waveberg pool. The initiative, spearheaded by PWG councilor Michael Fux, aims to gather the thoughts and ideas of local residents on the potential preservation of the pool.

As of now, Fux has counted around 200 completed questionnaires, and the results are expected in the fall. The surveys can be accessed online, or in printed form at the Stern and Kofel pharmacies.

In addition to the general public survey, Fux has initiated a separate survey for local hosts. The results of both surveys will serve as a basis for the town council's work. The PWG has formulated eleven questions for the survey, covering various aspects such as volunteer work and proposed membership fees.

The future of the Oberammergau Wave Pool remains uncertain, but the PWG is determined to fight for its preservation. They plan to form a support association for the pool, and a six-member private initiative is already working towards this goal.

Magdalena Madersbacher, a member of the private initiative, emphasizes that there are examples in Germany where similar efforts have been successful in saving swimming pools. She encourages citizens to participate in the survey and get involved in the effort to save the Waveberg pool.

A special meeting of the Oberammergau town council is scheduled to discuss the future of the pool, and the results of the surveys are expected to play a significant role in these discussions. The initiative invites all citizens to join the fight to save the Waveberg pool and make a difference in their community.
