Latest Luxury SUV Arrival: Five Standout Features of the New Volvo XC60 Unveiled
The Volvo XC60, a popular choice in India's premium SUV market, has received a significant upgrade for 2025. Competing against the likes of the BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLC, Lexus NX 300h, Audi Q5, and Jeep Wrangler, the XC60 continues to hold its ground.
The 2025 XC60 boasts an elegant interior adorned with high-end materials such as Nappa leather, genuine wood trim, and a crystal gear selector. Assembly of the XC60 takes place at Volvo's Bengaluru plant, ensuring a local touch to the luxury vehicle.
The new model offers two main powertrain variants: a plug-in hybrid T8 Ultra with a 2.0L inline-4 engine producing 455 hp and 523 lb-ft of torque, and a mild hybrid B5 with a 2.0L inline-4 engine delivering 247 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque. The T8 Ultra accelerates faster, reaching 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds, while the mild hybrid takes 6.5 seconds.
The 2025 XC60 retains a wheelbase of 112.8 inches, with an overall length of about 185.4 inches and a maximum cargo capacity of 63.3 cubic feet. The ground clearance stands at 8.5 inches, providing suitable light off-road capability.
Technology and equipment levels have been enhanced across trims, with the entry-level Core offering essentials plus luxuries like two-zone climate control, cruise control, LED headlights, heated leather seats, and automatic lights/wipers. The mid-level Plus adds fully electric seats, four-zone climate control, heated steering wheel and windshield, 19-inch alloy wheels, and keyless entry. The 2025 XC60 also features a new front grille with diagonal slats similar to the latest XC90, a 1410-watt Bowers & Wilkins sound system with 15 speakers, and two new exterior color options - Mulberry Red and Forest Lake. The rear taillights have been updated without chrome accents, and the front bumpers and air intakes have been revised.
The XC60's cabin includes integrated Google services and voice assistance, and its new infotainment system is powered by Qualcomm's advanced Snapdragon Cockpit Platform. The XC60's front seats offer heating, ventilation, and massage functions.
The Jaguar F-Pace and Jeep Wrangler are other SUVs offered in India, with respective prices of ₹ 67.65 Lakhs and ₹ 72.90 Lakhs. The upcoming Mercedes-Benz AMG CLE 53 has a price range of ₹80 Lakhs - 1 Cr in India. With over 2.7 million units sold globally, the XC60 remains Volvo's most successful model.
