Landshut Offers Free Wood Waste Collection for Spring Garden Preparation
Garden owners in Landshut are preparing their gardens for spring, taking advantage of the city's free wood waste collection service. The service will run from March 4th to March 22nd, allowing up to five cubic meters of waste per residential unit.
To ensure smooth collection, residents should stack branches and twigs in one direction, keeping them separate from roots and small hedge clippings. They should place the waste on their property for collection, no earlier than the evening before the scheduled date, and keep the access route clear.
Certain streets require prior inspection for wood waste collection. Residents in cul-de-sacs, private roads, or roads without turning possibilities, as well as those not visible from the road, must report their collection points in advance. The city encourages residents to report wood waste in these streets.
The city of Landshut also advises garden owners to consider wild bees when pruning. They recommend pruning early-blooming species like willow or catkins in the fall instead of spring.
The wood waste collection dates can be found in the waste calendar, the environmental guide, or the Abfall-App of the city of Landshut. For more information on waste management services, residents can contact the Landkreis Landshut or Stadtwerke Landshut. The city encourages all garden owners to participate in this service to help maintain a clean and sustainable environment.
