La Palma-Cerritos AAUW Hosts Candidates Forum for City of Cerritos Residents

The La Palma-Cerritos American Association of University Women (AAUW) is set to host a Candidates Forum for City of Cerritos residents on Tuesday, March 1, 2022. This event will take place in the Cerritos City Council Chamber at 18125 Bloomfield Avenue, the same location as the previous forum held on February 4, 2025.

The Candidates Forum will commence at 7:00 p.m. and will run until 9:00 p.m., following a Social Time at 6:30 p.m. Christine Taxier, the Branch Secretary, will also serve as Program Chair for this meeting. Attendees are asked to bring a pen to write down information provided during the program.

The Public Policy Committee of the La Palma-Cerritos AAUW is organizing the Candidates Forum. The program will feature stories about lesser-known women who have made significant contributions to American history.

The La Palma-Cerritos Branch of the AAUW is an active organisation that regularly hosts meetings, interest groups, and fundraisers. In addition to the Candidates Forum, the branch offers four social groups, called Interest Groups, for its members. These groups include the Evening Book Group, led by Mary J.; the Bridge Group, led by Janice S.; the Daytime Book Group, led by Linda K.; and the Creative Hands Group, led by Karen M. For more detailed information about these groups, feel free to ask!

Interested individuals can join the La Palma-Cerritos Branch of the AAUW by contacting Administrator Harriet Moses at 714-994-1487. The branch welcomes graduates who have an associate, baccalaureate, or higher degree from an accredited college or university and are committed to advancing equity for women and girls through research, education, and advocacy.

Details about a potential Fall Fashion Show Fundraiser for scholarships were not provided in the article. However, in August 2015, the branch held an Annual Summer BBQ. The branch also celebrated Women's History Month on March 20, 2025, at the Cabrillo Lane Adult School Auditorium.

The La Palma-Cerritos AAUW encourages all City of Cerritos residents to attend the Candidates Forum and engage in discussions about the future of their community. For more information, please contact the branch administrator.
