Kia Unveils Innovative EV Concepts and SUVs Linked to Greek Deities at SEMA

At this year's SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Kia America has made a splash with the unveiling of two innovative electric vehicle concepts: the Kia EV9 ADVNTR Concept EV SUV and the PV5 WKNDR Concept EV Van. These futuristic 4x4 vehicles, designed with adventure and versatility in mind, showcase advanced technologies and Kia’s "Opposites United" design philosophy.

Kia EV9 ADVNTR Concept EV SUV

The Kia EV9 ADVNTR Concept EV SUV is a rugged 4x4 electric SUV concept tailored for adventure. It incorporates the latest electric technologies and robust styling elements for off-road capability. Designed by Kia Design Center America, the EV9 ADVNTR emphasizes durability and futuristic aesthetics, reflecting the 4x4 adventure focus.

Key features include a lifted suspension, custom tires, reinforced panels, and a roof rack designed for camping tents and storage containers.

Kia PV5 WKNDR Concept EV Van

The Kia PV5 WKNDR Concept EV Van is a Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV)-based electric adventure van aimed at both logistics and passenger flexibility. It boasts multiple flexible interior layouts, including customizable seating and a "Driver’s Desk" workspace concept for productivity on the move.

Recognized with a Red Dot award for its innovative and user-centric design, the PV5 WKNDR embodies Kia’s "Opposites United" philosophy, blending technology with nature and practicality with emotion. It is designed to adapt to various adventure, travel, and work lifestyles with an emphasis on sustainability and versatility.

Premium interior materials such as moonshot nappa leather seats and wood trim, along with modern connectivity features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, further enhance the user experience.

Greek Mythology-Themed SUVs

In addition to the EV concepts, Kia showcased three custom SUV models themed around Greek mythological figures: Thetis (Sportage), Zeus (Telluride), and Gaia (Sorento). Each vehicle is designed to cater to specific outdoor adventures, with features such as off-road tires, awnings, outdoor projectors, perimeter lighting, and kayak mounts.

Steven Center, COO of Kia America, stated that Kia’s utility vehicles are known for versatility and adaptability, and these concepts further push these attributes, offering a preview of future automotive innovation. The vehicles were created by Kia Design Center America (KDCA).
