In the upcoming autumn and winter months, the municipal waste management department of Bergisch Gladbach, Bensberg, and Refrath will be collecting leaves and brushwood from city gardens. Here's a guide to help you prepare for the collections.
Collection Dates
The collections will take place in the 41st week of October, 46th week of November, and 50th week of December 2025. Registrations for the collections must be made in advance, and the deadlines for registration are as follows:
- Registrations for the October collection are accepted immediately.
- Registrations for the November collection can be made from October 10th.
- Registrations for the December collection can be made from November 14th, 2025.

Purchasing Paper Bags
Paper bags for leaf and brushwood collection can be purchased at several locations in Bergisch Gladbach, Bensberg, and Refrath. These include the OBI-DIY Market, Bauzentrum Tönnes, Wertstoffhof Kippemühle, Edeka-Markt Teske, Kult-Kiosk-Shop, and other local municipal or waste management centers, garden centers, or designated collection points provided by the city.
The price of each paper bag is 0.80 euros. It's recommended to check the Bergisch Gladbach city website or their environmental services for precise locations, as no specific shops are mentioned in the search results.
