The Pera Museum in Istanbul is gearing up for a special event, a free guided tour titled "A Journey Through Collection Exhibitions", starting on July 30, 2025, at 6 p.m. This tour is an exciting opportunity for visitors to explore the museum's diverse collections, ranging from Orientalist painting and Ottoman cultural history to traditional crafts, all enriched by expert commentary.

This tour is a collaboration with Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality's Culture Inc. and takes visitors through four of the museum's key collection exhibitions:

  1. "Intersecting Worlds: Envoys and Painters" – This exhibition explores diplomatic and artistic relations between the Ottoman Empire and Europe from the 17th to 19th centuries. It features historical documents, paintings, and the works of envoys and painters, providing insights into the interaction between these two worlds.
  2. "Osman Hamdi Bey" – This exhibition showcases the works of the pioneering Ottoman archaeologist and painter Osman Hamdi Bey, known for his unique style combining Eastern and Western influences. The exhibition highlights the subject's multifaceted personality and cultural contributions.
  3. "The Art of Weight and Measure" – This exhibition traces Anatolia’s 4,000-year trade history through authentic weight and measurement instruments. It offers visitors a functional aesthetic experience, reflecting economic history, craft culture, and daily life practices.
  4. "Extraordinary Minas" – This exhibition centres on the revival of Kütahya tile art around the turn of the 19th-20th centuries. It presents the works of master artist Minas Avramidis and Kütahya artisans, bridging tradition and modernity.
