In the realm of high-end technology, a popular speaker and their husband have found joy in their Sony 65-inch A95K, appreciating its XR OLED Contrast Pro, pure black contrast, and wide color palette for 4K movie viewing at home. However, a recent development from Sony Electronics may have caught their eye - the Crystal LED (CLED) CAPRI series.
Sony's latest offering in CLED technology, announced in mid-2025, is designed for cost-conscious users seeking high-end LED wall performance for virtual production, broadcast, and commercial applications. The CAPRI series boasts a maximum brightness of 1,500 cd/m², a pixel pitch of 2.50mm, refresh rates up to 7,680Hz, and over 98% coverage of DCI-P3, ensuring lifelike and accurate colours.
Key features of the CAPRI series also include modularity, seamless integration with Sony’s existing Crystal LED VERONA series and virtual production ecosystem, and maintenance-friendly LED module blocks that can be changed from the rear.
While the CAPRI series is expected to launch towards the end of 2025, it is primarily aimed at professional and commercial users, such as those in TV, film, advertising, rental, staging, and corporate environments. As of now, there is no indication that Sony’s latest Crystal LED technology is being designed for or marketed to home theater consumers.
In their modest eight-room home, the speaker owns four outstanding TVs, including LG, Samsung, and Sony models. The speaker's audio and video movie-watching experience at home rivals a trip to the cinema, with an outstanding surround sound system featuring an 18-inch subwoofer.
The speaker will not be attending the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January due to budget constraints, but they have expressed interest in transforming their kitchen lighting experience using Lutron's Ketra technology. The Ketra technology provides the best quality of white light and can also produce full saturated colors, following the color temperature that the sun would have throughout the day.

The speaker occasionally visits their local IMAX theater for a more immersive experience, but their home setup offers a unique and cinematic experience of its own.
