Hanging Air Plant Display Frame

Nikki Tilley, a renowned gardening expert with over three decades of experience, has shared a simple yet stylish DIY project - a floating air plant frame. Born and raised in the United States, Tilley has authored six gardening books and served as the Senior Editor and Archivist of a popular gardening platform.

To create this elegant frame, you'll need a box-shaped frame, twine, tacks or small nails, a decorative driftwood or cork piece, Spanish moss, reindeer moss, and Tillandsia plants. The number of Tillandsia plants you'll use depends on the overall size of your frame, but for this project, we'll be using three types of these air plants.

Begin by attaching the twine to the inside edges of your frame using the tacks or nails. Arrange the air plants into the spaces between the twine, positioning them to your liking. To add a touch of natural beauty, incorporate Spanish moss and reindeer moss into the twine, weaving them as needed.

Once your decorative elements are in place, secure them using the twine. If you have a plant mister, mist the air plants and moss to moisten them. However, it's important to note that air plants are easy to care for, requiring a quick soak in water every couple of weeks and misting as needed.

After completing the frame, hang it in an area with filtered or indirect light. To hang the frame, leave extra twine to wrap around the top corners. With this simple project, you can bring a touch of green and elegance to your home using supplies from a MyGardenBox subscription.

So, gather your supplies and get creative with this floating air plant frame! It's a perfect addition to any room, adding a touch of nature and style. Happy gardening!
