Hagenow Revamps 'Am Mühlenteich' Schoolyard in €925k Redevelopment Project

The city of Hagenow is set to revamp the schoolyard of 'Am Mühlenteich' school as the concluding step in its 'Center' redevelopment zone. The project, backed by approximately 925,000 euros in joint funding from federal, state, and local governments, is expected to commence promptly this year and wrap up within four months.

The overhaul will encompass a range of improvements. The rainwater system will be refurbished, and new play areas and a small sports field will be established. Seating furniture for a 'Green Classroom' will be installed, and the landscape will be enhanced with hedges, trees, and a renewed retaining wall and fence along the millpond side.

The city of Hagenow is overseeing the project, but the contract for the outdoor area's design has not yet been awarded. Interested companies can still submit their offers until October 20, 2025.

The 'Am Mühlenteich' schoolyard redesign, funded by a substantial grant, aims to create a more engaging and functional space for students and the community. The project's swift timeline promises a transformed learning environment by the end of the year.
