Forma Architects Unveil 'House on a Hill' in Hudson Valley

A striking news residence, 'House on a Hill', has emerged in the Hudson Valley, New York. Designed by Forma Architects, this cubic home stands out yet harmoniously blends with its surroundings. Forma Architects, led by founders Miroslava Brooks and Daniel Markiewicz, along with Kyle Troyer, crafted this unique dwelling. Initially planned larger, the project was scaled back due to pandemic-induced cost increases and labour shortages. The house, carved from cedar and presented as a striking black cube, shifts in character from different angles. Despite its compact 700 sq ft footprint, it houses three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a double-height living room boasting views of the Catskills and the Berkshires. The House on a Hill is a captivatingly discordant addition to the land it inhabits, showcasing design ingenuity in overcoming real-world challenges.
