The city of Greifswald is set to host the 17th Figurentheaterfestival FANTAKEL from September 26 to 28, 2025. This three-day event promises a wide range of events for theater fans, including plays, exhibitions, and an interactive program.

The festival kicks off with "At the fire station, the coffee gets cold" by Weites Theater, a play suitable for children aged three and above. The historical marionettes will be featured in the play "Little Red Riding Hood or the Power of Destiny" by Seebühne Hiddensee, also suitable for children aged three and above.

On Saturday, September 27, 2025, theatergoers can visit the Koeppenhaus for free from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM to explore the exhibition honoring the Hans Christian Andersen anniversary, which will run from September 12 to October 24, 2025. The free "Colorful Interactive Program" will take place in the inner courtyard on the same day, offering creative crafting, interactive orchestra, button workshop, face painting, lucky wheel, coffee & cake, and more.

In the evening on September 27, a joint production of Musik Theater Cammin and Theater mit Puppen will present "Ernst Barlach - Are we in good times?" for young people aged 12 and above and adults. This thought-provoking play will be followed by "The Most Beautiful Sunday" by Theater Randfigur, a magical play with hands and music for children aged four and above, presented at St. Spiritus at 5:00 PM.

The FANTAKEL will conclude on Sunday with the play "The Nightingale" by Seebühne Hiddensee, exploring themes of art and artificiality, love, and transience, at the Koeppenhaus at 7:00 PM. Earlier in the day, Theater Randfigur will present "The Princess on the Pea" for children aged four and above at Greifswald's city library at 10:30 AM, and Theater Maskotte will perform "Thumbelina" at St. Spiritus, suitable for children aged five and above, at 3:00 PM.

TheaterGeist will also be part of the festival, presenting the biographical puppet theater "Alles Familie" for children aged five and above at St. Spiritus on September 27, 2025, at 3:00 PM.

So, mark your calendars for the 17th Figurentheaterfestival FANTAKEL in Greifswald's city center from September 26 to 28, 2025. It's an event not to be missed for theater lovers of all ages!
