David Lynch's personal memorabilia, including his iconic director's chair, will be auctioned off on June 18, 2025. The live auction will take place at Julien's Studios in Los Angeles and will also be accessible online for remote bidders.

The auction, presented by Julien's Auctions in collaboration with Turner Classic Movies, will feature over 450 items from Lynch's estate. Highlights include a red leather director's chair, estimated to be worth between $5,000 and $7,000. A 1950s designer sofa is expected to fetch $8,000 to $10,000, while an espresso machine from Lynch's home could bring in around $3,000.

Iconic red curtains from the mystery series "Twin Peaks" and 35mm film reels from Lynch's debut film "Eraserhead" (1977) are also up for auction. The event will offer a wide variety of items, including musical instruments, records, furniture, art objects, and painting supplies from the multi-talented artist's studio.

The director's chair being auctioned is a personalized piece with a varnished wooden frame and a red leather seat and backrest, specifically made for David Lynch. Hundreds of other personal artifacts from Lynch's life and career will be on the block, including memorabilia from Twin Peaks, Lynch's personal 35mm print of Eraserhead, and other film-related items.

Lynch gained fame through the TV series Twin Peaks and cult films like Wild at Heart and Blue Velvet. He passed away at the age of 78 in January. As a director and screenwriter, he was nominated for an Oscar four times but never won. In 2019, the film academy awarded him an honorary Oscar.

Fans and collectors can participate in both the live and online auctions on the date mentioned. The exact estimated value for the director's chair alone has not been publicly disclosed, but given Lynch's stature and the uniqueness of the item, high bidding interest is expected.

David Lynch's auctioned items encompass a broad array of personal artifacts, such as furniture from his lifestyle in the 1950s, like a 1950s designer sofa. Additionally, entertainment enthusiasts and celebrities may remember and bid on home-and-garden items from Lynch, such as a red leather director's chair, especially since it's linked to his iconic works like Twin Peaks.
