Daimler Buses Unveils Next-Gen NMC4 Battery in eCitaro at UITP Summit 2025
Daimler Buses is set to unveil its latest innovation at the upcoming UITP Summit 2025 in Hamburg. The company will showcase an eCitaro equipped with the next-generation NMC4 battery for the first time. This marks a significant step in the company's commitment to sustainable and efficient electric mobility for city buses.
The new NMC4 battery, developed in collaboration with BMZ Poland, promises longer ranges and a longer service life. It supports both gentle and rapid charging processes, ensuring optimal performance and durability. This advancement will be available on the Mercedes-Benz eCitaro from 2026.
Daimler Buses offers a comprehensive suite of all-electric mobility solutions, including charging infrastructure and digital services. The Omniplus On monitor location services plus allows operators to set up zones with restricted maximum speeds, enhancing safety and preventing penalties. Additionally, the Digital Services Package includes speed-related geofencing and battery monitoring services for electric buses.
