What is the MunichBudget?
If you're 14 or older and living in Munich, this one's for you. Most of us are digital natives, so getting involved is easier than ever. Just head on over to unser.muenchen.de, register, and share your ideas. Don't worry if you're old-school; there's always the option to submit your ideas through postcards at various city libraries. Just drop your suggestions in the "suggestion mailbox" by June 9th.
Once your ideas have been checked by the city administration by mid-June, you'll have the chance to vote for your favorites from June 17th to June 30th. Best of all, you don't have to be the one who initially submitted the idea to participate!
Making it Happen 🌟
From July 1st, the departments responsible will draw up cost and implementation plans for the 20 suggestions with the most votes. After that, the final voting round happens again on the published plans from October 15th to October 31st.
It's important to note that each project may only incur one-time costs of 100,000 euros. Recurring costs, such as personnel costs, are off the table. So, be creative and keep the budget in mind!
Rules of the Game 📝
To be accepted, your idea should meet specific criteria. It should be a new and feasible project that benefits the public and has some added value for the city. Sustainability plays a big role, both environmentally and socially.
On the flip side, ideas that involve areas significant for nature conservation won't be accepted. So, let's all do our bit to protect Mother Nature.
