Construction of the new Arnsberg rescue station has been successfully finalized today.

Arnsberg, Germany, is set to welcome a new modern rescue station by autumn 2026. The station, currently under construction since July 2025, will be located near the train station, a site that meets both the requirements specified in the rescue service needs plan and the security needs of the city's residents.

The construction project is taking place in the neighbourhood of the fire museum "Brennpunkt". The building plan includes a single-story vehicle hall with three parking spaces and a washing area, adjacent to which a three-story functional building for personnel, technology, and logistics is being created.

Mayor Ralf Paul Bittner has expressed his enthusiasm for the new station, stating that it will support the city's ambitious search for staff in the rescue service and improve the supply in case of emergencies in the city. The new station is also expected to create a modern and appropriate new working environment for employees in the rescue service.

The Fire Department of Arnsberg is equally delighted about the modernization of working conditions for employees in the rescue service with the new construction. According to Dennis Pingel and Stephan John of the Fire Department of the City of Arnsberg, the colleagues in the rescue service can look forward to a modern workplace that meets many of the unique challenges of their work.

The new station, located at Branddirektor-Kraemer-Straße 3, 59821 Arnsberg, near the fire museum "Brennpunkt", will also boast a sustainable energy supply. Features include geothermal energy, a ground-water heat pump, concrete core activation for heating and cooling, a floor heating system, a photovoltaic system with a green roof, ensuring a green and energy-efficient working environment.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the new rescue station took place on Monday, September 8th. The city of Arnsberg purchased the area for the new construction from Deutsche Bahn, though the search results do not provide information on who purchased the land for the new construction.

In conclusion, the new rescue station in Arnsberg is a significant step forward in enhancing the city's emergency response capabilities and providing a modern and sustainable workplace for its rescue service employees.
