Comprehensive Guide on EV Entertainment Systems: Nearly all you require about in-car entertainment in electric vehicles

In the world of electric vehicles, Polestar stands out with its innovative offerings. One of the key features that set Polestar apart is the constant internet connectivity of the first three years, included in the price of every Polestar vehicle.

The Polestar 3 and 4 models come equipped with impressive driver displays. The Polestar 3 boasts a 9" display, while the Polestar 4 upgrades to a 10.2" screen. These displays can be customised to show various information such as speed, battery status, navigation, or driver assistance details.

Polestar vehicles also integrate with Google Home, allowing drivers to check battery charge status, activate climate functions, and control smart home devices with voice commands. Moreover, the Google Automotive Keyboard app can transform the touchscreen into a computer keyboard, making it ideal for work and home-life tasks while recharging the battery pack or waiting for the school run.

The in-car entertainment system in Polestar vehicles is designed to be intuitive and user-friendly. The Polestar 4's system boasts a stunning 15.4-inch, frameless centre display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels and a landscape orientation. During charging stops, drivers can make the most of this entertainment system by watching TV shows, listening to music, or playing games.

The centre display in Polestar vehicles serves as a central command centre, allowing drivers to access various car functions, adjust settings, and host entertainment offerings. Polestar 2 offers a wired connection for Apple CarPlay, with Polestar 4 offering wireless connection and Polestar 3's wireless offering coming soon.

Polestar vehicles also feature a head-up display, beaming important information onto the windscreen. This includes current speed, speed limit information, and turn-by-turn directions. Setting up Google Home in a Polestar vehicle enables voice command control over various vehicle functions and smart home devices.

Electric vehicle charging is required less frequently than expected, and with ultra-rapid charging capabilities, charging stops only take around half an hour or less. During these stops, drivers can make use of Google Assistant, included with the in-car data, to have emails read aloud, reply to text messages, and be reminded of important calendar entries without taking their eyes off the road.

Interestingly, the Polestar portraits featuring cyclist Demi Vollering and basketball player Kevin Love were masterminded by Norwegian photographer and director Espen Bergersen. The Google Play store offers a variety of in-car apps, including entertainment apps like Prime Video, YouTube, Tidal, and gaming apps like Gamesnacks and titles that can be played with a dedicated gaming controller.

Lastly, the driver's display in Polestar vehicles has preconfigured modes that provide necessary information and nothing else, ensuring a safe and focused driving experience. With these features and more, Polestar continues to push the boundaries of what an electric vehicle can offer.
