Competition persists in Yakutsk: an ongoing event
The Yakutsk City Administration and NVK "Sakha" are inviting residents of Yakutsk to participate in a city photo contest called "Yakutsk Inspires". The contest, dedicated to the 392nd anniversary of the city's foundation, aims to promote a positive image of Yakutsk, propagate its historical and cultural heritage, and reflect the social and cultural life of the city through photography.
The contest has five categories: "Yakutsk Historical", "Urban Life", "City People", "Cityscapes", and "Creative Photo Series". In the "Yakutsk Historical" category, participants can submit historical photographs, archival photos of the city environment and residents in the 19-20 centuries. The "City People" category welcomes individual and group photographs (portraits) of Yakutsk residents, while the "Urban Life" category encourages submissions of photographs of mass events, scenes from the daily life of citizens, and genre photographs. In the "Cityscapes" category, participants can submit photographs of landmarks (architectural monuments), recognizable locations, and favourite places of residents. The "Creative Photo Series" category invites a series of 5-10 photographs united by the common theme "My Yakutsk" with an original and creative approach to photography.
Participants can submit only one work per category. Applications to participate in the contest and photographs should be sent to the email address: [email protected] by September 5. The best works from the "Yakutsk Inspires" photo contest will be published on the websites of the Yakutsk City Administration (yakutskcity.ru), "Yakutia 24" (yk24.ru), and other mass media.
The authors of the best works will be awarded diplomas and valuable prizes, but for more detailed information about the contest's rules and prizes, please refer to the official rules. Residents aged 14 and above can participate in the contest, and participants will receive certificates upon submission of their work.
