Community now garners Budden's support - Grant funds ensure its success

The Neighborhood Booth, a vibrant community hub located in front of St. Joseph's Church on Münster Street, has secured an extension on its funding for at least three more years. The North Rhine-Westphalia Welfare Foundation has pledged additional support, ensuring the continuation and potential expansion of the booth's services.

The project, now titled "Budenfriends - Your Diversity. Your Power", has been a daily meeting point for many people since it was established two years ago by Silvia Koslowski and her team. The booth offers assistance with a variety of tasks, ranging from fixing a stuck door to helping with language problems at the savings bank.

Jürgen Grewe serves as the first point of contact at the Neighborhood Booth. The political committee stepped in during an uncertain period to bridge the gap until the next funding pledge, providing bridging finance for the project in July.

The funding includes a part-time position for a qualified electrician, with seven hours of work per week. Additionally, the positions of three booth team members will be increased, allowing for more community members to be involved in the project. Seminars and workshops will be offered to volunteers to improve their skills and knowledge. The project title for the volunteer work is "working voluntarily".

The Budenfreunde team only works on electrical lines in the homes of those in need with specialists. The booth has been referred by job centers, practices, and migration consulting offices for assistance with various tasks.

Silvia Koslowski, the project's driving force, invites those who want to learn German but don't speak it fluently enough to attend the Wednesday café at the Neighborhood Booth. Many volunteers at the Neighborhood Booth are learning German as a second language.

For those interested in joining the Budenfreunde team, Silvia Koslowski suggests that a retiree might be interested in the part-time electrician position.

While specific details about the latest funding status and services offered by the Budenfreunde project on Münster Street could not be found in the search results, consulting official Münster Street community boards, local government announcements, or Budenfreunde’s official channels would provide accurate and current details.

At the Neighborhood Booth, a community hub positioned in front of St. Joseph's Church on Münster Street, individuals can engage in various home-and-garden related activities alongside their lifestyle pursuits, as the budgeted part-time electrician will now handle electrical issues within homes. Moreover, a plethora of workshops will be organized for volunteers to enhance their skills and knowledge, thereby making the transformation of the Booth into a multifunctional 'home' for the community even more evident.
