Celebratory Gathering at Landwehrplatz - Anniversary Event Marking Two Decades for Children and Youth
On Saturday, June 14, 2025, the Landwehrplatz in Saarbrücken will be filled with laughter, music, and joy as the 20th Children and Youth Festival takes place. Organised by the Children and Youth Circle of St. Johann, this annual event has become a real highlight in the neighborhood, emphasising fun, community, and togetherness.
The festival, running from 2:00 PM to 6:30 PM, aims to reach more families and show that community is lived in Saarbrücken, regardless of the parents' financial situation. Admission to the event is free for all attendees, making it accessible to everyone.
Throughout the afternoon, visitors can engage in a variety of activities suitable for all age groups. Younger children can enjoy face painting, craft and creativity stations, and a mobile climbing wall, while older participants aged 12 and above can participate in a T-shirt design project at the specially opened JUZ Försterstraße.
For the musically inclined, the Rockmobil, a former public bus, will offer an opportunity to try out various musical instruments. The festival also boasts a diverse stage program featuring dance and music groups, as well as a Cajon workshop.
In case of bad weather, the event will move to the nearby JUZ Försterstraße. The festival is a joint project of various institutions and organisations, demonstrating the strong solidarity in the neighborhood. The voluntary commitment of many people ensures the success of the festival each year.
Raphael Foltin, spokesperson for the Caritasverband Saarbrücken, stated that the festival has become a real highlight in the neighborhood, fostering strong bonds within the community. He encourages all interested children, young people, and their parents to attend and be a part of this special day.
