CDU Saarland hosts alpaca-themed summer festival in Bliesgau region.
Under bright sunshine and a summery atmosphere, the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) Saarpfalz hosted its annual summer festival at the Helenenhof, a picturesque farm home to Bliesgau alpacas. The event drew a large crowd, with Jutta Schmitt-Lang, district chairwoman of CDU Saarpfalz, and Klaus-Ludwig Fess, the CDU candidate for district administrator, addressing guests.
In her welcoming speech, Schmitt-Lang underscored the importance of unity, pointing to the upcoming municipal elections in 2024. Fess, however, focused on the economic challenges facing the district, highlighting the need to position it as a supportive environment for businesses, municipalities, and citizens. He touched on topics such as the promotion of volunteer work and the enhancement of disaster protection in the region.
State chairman of CDU and chairman of the state parliament fraction, Stephan Toscani, and general secretary Frank Wagner commended the excellent organization and familial ambiance of the event. The Young Union Saarpfalz catered to the guests' physical well-being with homemade pulled pork burgers, coffee, cake, and cold drinks.
A daylight highlight was the alpaca walks, which allowed guests to interact closely with the farm's four-legged hosts. Schmitt-Lang concluded the day, affirming it as a resounding success.
The CDU Saarpfalz, in the face of economic challenges and the impending municipal elections, aims to engage the public, advocate policy reform, nurture future leaders, and secure electoral victories.
