Bustling Schedule for Bremen's World Heritage Day 2024, Including Public Access to the Town Hall on June 2nd
The city of Bremen is gearing up for a festive celebration from May 31st to June 2nd, 2024, marking the 20-year anniversary of the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Town Hall and Roland. The Bremen World Heritage Days promise a diverse program filled with music, performances, and wine tasting events for all ages.
On the first day, May 31st, the Domshof will transform into a massive dance floor under the motto 'World Heritage meets Open-Space'. DJ Majestix, Audio Stunts & Mahumba, and artists from the Alter Ego DJ collective will be spinning tunes, while the 'Bremen so frei - a festival in 11 songs' sing-along event and a colourful stage program will entertain visitors from 11 am.
For those interested in history, 'The Town Hall and the Women' event will take place from 1 to 3 pm on June 1st. This event will focus on women immortalized in the Bremen Town Hall, including historical figures like Ottilie Hoffmann, who founded the 'German Association of Abstinent Women' in 1900. Registration is required, and participation is free.
On the same day, a wine tasting event titled 'Wine Culture Meets World Culture' will take place from 3:30 to 5 pm. Wines from all 13 German wine regions will be available for tasting, with a free tasting for those born in 2004 at 6:30 pm. A wine bingo will also be held on June 1st.
The European Hanse Ensemble will give a concert at 5 pm in the Church of Our Lady on June 2nd. Meanwhile, at the Ratskeller Genuss-Pavillon, the German Wine Queen 2023/2024 will meet-and-greet visitors at 12:30 pm.
In addition to these events, two cycling tours (Tour 1 and Tour 2) around the theme of diversity and World Heritage will be offered by the ADFC on June 2nd. Free guided tours of the World Heritage site will also be available from 11 am to 4:30 pm.

Moderated tasting of three wines in the fireplace room of the Town Hall requires registration and a participation fee of 5 euros. Access to the moderated wine tasting is via Town Hall/Entrance Senatskanzlei (porter). On the Domshof stage on June 2nd, the City Musician Musical, the Hochschule Bremen choir, and bands from the Bremen Music School will perform.
