Bussi Buhs: Master of Plastic Art in Landshut Exhibition

The Große Rathausgalerie in Landshut is currently hosting an exhibition of works by renowned artist Bussi Buhs, curated by Franz Schneider and Stephanie Gilles. The show, a collaborative project between the city's Culture department and the New Gallery Landshut e.V., presents around 60 small sculptures and drawings created by Buhs over her career.

Born in Mannheim in 1940 and now residing near Munich, Bussi Buhs is celebrated for her mastery of plastic art. She studied sculpture and chemistry, and later led the plastic workshop at the Academy of Arts in Munich for many years. The exhibition at the Große Rathausgalerie showcases Buhs' unique talent, featuring around 60 small sculptures made primarily from polyester, spanning all phases of her career.

In addition to the sculptures, the exhibition includes four vitrines displaying smaller objects and selected pencil drawings by the artist. Curator Franz Schneider, from the Neue Galerie Landshut, highlights that few other artists handle plastic with the same skill and creativity as Bussi Buhs.

The exhibition of Bussi Buhs' works is a testament to her enduring influence on the art world. It is a must-see for art enthusiasts, offering a rare opportunity to appreciate the artist's unique approach to plastic art.
