The Midsummer festival at the Catholic Youth Association Demling is set to take place on the leisure ground at Menninger Mountain on July 19th, following a restructuring due to certain circumstances.

Despite the challenges, the event will still be a memorable one. The festival will kick off with a field mass, led by local priest Wilhelm Karsten, who will also bless the fire that will be lit after dark.

The strength and skill game, a special program point, will see ten registered teams competing in estimating the filling level of a beer bottle, in beer mug target pushing, and in beer mug lifting. Among the teams, the local team "Alf" emerged victorious, although more details about their win were not provided.

Safety measures will be in place due to the fire, ensuring the event remains safe for all attendees.

Chairman Andreas Büchl, along with young people and young adults of the association, have worked tirelessly to rebuild the event landscape. Their efforts have not gone unnoticed, with Mayor Rainer Stingl thanking the Catholic Youth Association Demling for organising the Midsummer celebration.

One of the unique elements of this restructured celebration is the drive-in barbecue, where attendees will remain in their cars. Another is the incorporation of a bonfire, providing a traditional and festive atmosphere despite the changes. The adaptation enables the community to uphold the spirit of Midsummer while respecting any imposed limitations.

A fire, initially uncertain due to the drought, was allowed thanks to recent rain. However, no information was provided about any connection between the Midsummer celebration and the news about the firefighters freeing a man from a bakery van overturned on B16a near Großmehring.

Despite these circumstances, the Midsummer celebration at the Catholic Youth Association Demling demonstrates flexibility and creativity in keeping the Midsummer tradition alive. The festival will conclude with the visitors celebrating together until late into the night.

The Midsummer celebration, while adapting to changes, embraces an extended theme, merging the church service with home-and-garden aesthetics, creating an outdoor living lifestyle experience for attendees. showcasing a drive-in barbecue and a traditional bonfire, this unique edition of the festival promises to be a memorable fusion of tradition and modernity.
