Beverly Hills residence of Heather and Terry Dubrow changes hands for $16.5 million.

Heather and Terry Dubrow, renowned television personalities, have sold their iconic Beverly Hills estate, known as the Dubrow Chateau, for $16.5 million. The sale occurred five months after the estate was first listed for $25 million.

The estate, built in the 1940s, boasts a star-studded history of ownership, including filmmaker Martha De Laurentiis and her husband Dino De Laurentiis, restaurateur Steve Crane (ex-husband of Lana Turner), and best-selling novelist Harold Robbins, who bought it in 1978 for $850,000. The Dubrows acquired the property in 2023 for $16.1 million, with plans for a large-scale renovation.

However, the renovation estimates exceeded their budget by $8 million, leading the couple to opt for a modest $45,000 cosmetic refresh before listing it for sale. The estate features a soaring foyer, living room with French doors, formal dining room, and a wood-clad kitchen. The picturesque grounds contain a kitchen setup, several alfresco lounging and entertaining areas, and a full-sized tennis court.

The estate also offers five bedrooms and nine baths, including a primary suite with a sitting area, private balcony, dual walk-in closets and baths, a library, and a media room. The Dubrows still maintain a residence in Orange County.

The buyer of the Dubrow's estate is a non-famous individual from outside the country, who initially attempted to buy the estate but backed out at the last minute. The buyer had some lingering regrets and vowed not to let the estate slip through their fingers again.

The Dubrows have not disclosed their plans for their next move, but they still own a ritzy Roberto Cavalli-designed penthouse in the Century City neighborhood of Los Angeles, which they purchased for $14 million from Russian billionaire Sergey Grishin in 2022.

The Dubrow's estate in the mountains above Beverly Hills is not the first property they have sold recently. In 2019, they sold their elaborate Newport Coast mansion, also known as the Dubrow Chateau, to medical device tycoon Xu Hang for a record-breaking $55 million.

The sale of the Dubrow's Beverly Hills estate underscores its cultural and social significance in Beverly Hills, making it a notable property beyond its price and size.

The sale of the Dubrow's iconic Beverly Hills estate, once owned by filmmakers, restaurateurs, and best-selling authors, marks a shift in the Dubrow's financial investments, moving from extensive renovations to a modest cosmetic refresh before listing. Despite the anonymous buyer's initial hesitance, their second attempt solidifies a real-estate transaction that highlights the cultural and social significance of luxury homes in Beverly Hills.

In light of their recent property sales and ongoing investments in home-and-garden and real-estate ventures, the Dubrows' lifestyle continues to be a blend of high-end living and business acumen.
