Belrem Guild's gathering appoints fresh executive committee
In a significant change of leadership, Gaby Jourdan, Vice-Master of the Belrem Guild for eight years, has decided not to seek re-election at the recent board elections. Her departure marks the beginning of a new era for the 70-year-old association, founded in 1951.
Gaby Jourdan, in her farewell address, emphasised the importance of passing on the baton of leadership to the next generation in good time. Her sentiments were echoed by the Master of the Guild, Jörg Müller, who expressed his joy at the annual general meeting of the association.
Marc Jourdan, Gaby's son, has been unanimously elected as her successor as Vice-Master. Meanwhile, Giovanna Vella, known for her passion for dancing with the "Dancing Market Maidens" on stage, was also unanimously elected as a new board member. Giovanna expressed her excitement about joining the board, as it is her first time serving on such an association.
The election of Giovanna and Marc was not the only change in the board. All other members of the guild council were unanimously confirmed in their positions. Notably, Dietlinde Hess was honoured for her 20 years of association membership, making her the oldest member at 84 years old.
The Belrem Guild also welcomed seven new members in the past association year, alleviating concerns about the future of Fasnet in Dillweißenstein. Günter Haug, a long-standing member, surprised everyone by founding a new steel cabinet for the association archive to preserve valuable historical evidence.
The event was not without its celebratory moments. Günter Haug was awarded for his long-standing membership, with the Guild celebrating "their Günter" with standing ovations for 65 years of active association work.

As the Belrem Guild moves forward, it does so with a renewed sense of purpose and a dedicated team. The community looks forward to seeing the continued growth and success of this esteemed organisation.
Gaby Jourdan expressed her belief in the need for a sustainable transition of leadership, highlighting the importance of passing the baton to the next generation, such as her son Marc Jourdan who has been elected as the new Vice-Master. The home-and-garden association, Belrem Guild, also values sustainable living, as evidenced by Giovanna Vella's interest in home-and-garden as a new board member, known for her passion for activities that promote living in harmony with nature, like the "Dancing Market Maidens."
