Bavarian Minister Honours Aicher Holzbau for Environmental Excellence
Bavarian State Minister Tanja Schweiger has recognised Aicher Holzbau GmbH for its exceptional dedication to operational environmental and climate protection. The company received the prestigious award, which is part of the Bavarian Environmental and Climate Pact, established in 1995 to motivate businesses to exceed legal requirements for environmental protection.
Aicher Holzbau GmbH, founded in 1983, has consistently demonstrated a commitment to sustainability. The company, which began as a sawmill in Regenstauf, has evolved into a prominent wood construction firm. Its use of dry wood and wood-based materials ensures durability and effective building protection. This dedication has not gone unnoticed. In 2004, the company received the wood construction prize of the Regensburg district for the kindergarten Altenthann. Now, it has been awarded the 'Bavarian Environmental and Climate Pact' logo, valid for three years.
The pact, a cooperation between the Bavarian State Government and business associations, provides practical examples and information on environmental management systems. It aims to motivate other companies to adopt similar practices. The company's managing director, Michael Aicher, received the certificate from Minister Schweiger and Bruno Schleinkofer, second mayor of Regenstauf. This is not the first time Aicher Holzbau GmbH has received such recognition. It was first honoured in 2011, continuing a tradition of excellence in environmental protection.
Aicher Holzbau GmbH's commitment to environmental and climate protection serves as a model for other companies. Each of its wood constructions contributes to global climate change goals and the Bavarian Climate Protection Act's aim of achieving climate neutrality by 2040. The company's use of the official 'Bavarian Environmental and Climate Pact' logo for the next three years is a testament to its ongoing dedication to operational environmental and climate change protection.
