Bamberg's Fall Garden Waste Collection: Dates, Rules & New Guidelines
Bamberg residents, take note of the upcoming fall collection for garden waste and new rules to prevent misuse. The city has announced specific dates for the collection, along with guidelines for proper disposal.
The fall collection in individual collection districts will occur from October 13 to November 3, 2025. Ensure your green waste is cut to a maximum length of one meter and bundled for collection. Loose material and unbundled waste will not be collected. Remember, only purely plant-based waste like grass clippings, leaves, and tree/hedge clippings are accepted.
The composting facility on Rheinstraße accepts larger quantities of green waste at any time. For year-round disposal, green waste bags are available at Bamberg Service and the city hall at the ZOB. The city also offers twice-yearly curb collection with no registration or additional costs.
The city warns against leaving unbundled large green waste at the roadside, as it's illegal and may result in penalties. The annual garden waste collection is at risk of being discontinued due to increasing misuse. Let's all do our part to keep Bamberg clean and green.
