Artistry and tradition are thriving in Lucy's Sky, the historic district.
In the heart of Düsseldorf, a new cultural hub has emerged, attracting both local and international attention. Known as Lucy's Sky, this unique venue is located at Flinger Str. 10 and opened its doors in December 2018.
The brainchild of co-creators Andreas Bialek, better known as DJ Andry Nalin, and 'Huni' Wolff, Lucy's Sky is a testament to their passion for art, music, and culture. The venue's design, inspired by the Beatles song 'Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds,' is a blend of artistic creativity and club character, making it an ideal destination for weekend parties.
Andreas and Huni have put in a considerable amount of effort into the venue's design, doing much of the work themselves. This personal touch is evident in every corner of Lucy's Sky, from the artistic decor to the unique features like the DJ booth, which is directly on the dance floor, and the boat figure, Lucy, from Holland, that adorns the booth.
During the week, Lucy's Sky plays host to a variety of events, including live concerts, readings, and poetry slams. Fridays and Saturdays, however, are party nights, where the musical direction leans towards electronic downbeat and features a blend of world music and electronic beats. Local actors and newcomers are also valued and may be featured at the venue.
One of the most appealing aspects of Lucy's Sky is its accessibility. Everyone is welcome, regardless of their attire, as there is no dress code. What's more, the prices at Lucy's Sky are wallet-friendly, making it an affordable option for a night out.
Despite its growing popularity, Lucy's Sky remains relatively unknown, adding to its charm. For those seeking a unique cultural experience in Düsseldorf, Lucy's Sky is certainly worth a visit.
