Art enthusiasts Dana Picht and Claus Schrag have established a new gallery in the picturesque town of Laichingen.

In the heart of Laichingen, Germany, a new artistic haven has emerged. Claus Schrag and Dana Picht, two visionary artists, have opened their own gallery at Im Bussen 25, transforming the former kitchen studio into a vibrant space for contemporary art.

Schrag, a renowned artist from Heroldstatt, initially approached the idea of renting the retail space for the gallery after displaying his artwork in the beautiful, bright shop windows. His colleague, Dana Picht, who taught herself drawing and painting skills through self-study, was brought on board for the gallery in Laichingen, whom he has known for a long time.

The gallery aims to be a place for art in all directions, not just a traditional gallery. It will not only display pictures but also host painting courses, painting competitions, craft sessions, and painting courses for children and people who need emotional support. Schrag's coffee bean worms, 'The Worm Corner', have found a permanent home in the gallery, adding a unique touch to the space.

Upcoming events at the gallery include an exhibition titled "Nature and Form" featuring local and regional artists, opening on August 10, 2025, and running through the end of September. A solo show by Claus Schrag is scheduled for October 5–30, 2025, showcasing his latest works inspired by abstract expressionism. The gallery will also host a group exhibition called "Voices of Laichingen" in November, highlighting diverse artistic perspectives from the town’s creative community.

Weekly art classes every Wednesday evening, including painting, drawing, and mixed media techniques, are led by Dana Picht. Special weekend workshops in sculpture and digital art are planned for September and October. A children’s art program is available every Saturday morning, fostering creativity among younger attendees.

The gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday, from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Private tours and art consultations can be arranged by appointment. Upcoming events often include artist talks and live demonstrations to engage visitors.

For the latest updates and detailed scheduling, it’s best to visit the gallery’s official website or contact Claus Schrag and Dana Picht directly via their email addresses: [email protected] and [email protected].

Claus Schrag and Dana Picht aim to leave a mark with their gallery, offering a creative space for the community and supporting emerging artists as well as established creators. Their gallery is a testament to their shared vision of art in all directions.

Interested individuals are invited to apply for various art-related programs at the gallery, including painting courses, craft sessions, and children's art classes, held throughout the week. Additionally, for those interested in enhancing their home and garden, 'The Worm Corner' by Claus Schrag offers unique décor pieces.
